Ata Rangi Martinborough Pinot Noir 1999

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 30-Jun-2014
Very full, dark, deep ruby-red colour with some garnet and brick hues. This has a very full, softly dense bouquet, harmoniously packed with savoury, dark red berry fruits, some lift and earthy secondary elements. Medium-bodied, the fruit is sweet and delicately lifted, with soft, even textures and mouthfeel. The fruit is showing some soft secondary maturity, with some ripe, black notes. There is an underlying acid line, providing sufficient energy. This is classical, bottle-aged, elegant and mellowed out Pinot Noir near the end of its plateau. Some tasters saw some flatness of oxidation, possibly cork-derived. 17.5+/20 Jun 2014 RRP $N/A
