Ata Rangi Martinborough Pinot Noir 1993

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 30-Jun-2014
A cool growing season, the second of the Mt Pinatubo affected vintages. Made with 25% whole bunches. Clive was less enthused about 1993 than the previous year. Dark, deep, brick-red colour. The bouquet is very soft and elegant with harmoniously integrated aromas of fresh, fragrant herb-influenced red florals and soft savoury red fruits. Medium-bodied, there is some concentration, the mouthfeel soft and harmonious in presentation. Cool, herb and red fruit flavours possess some lusciousness, enhanced by lacy acidity. Fine-grained tannins support the fruit and carry the wine to a light, lean, dry and tannic finish with savoury dried herbs and faded roses. The coolness has some positive lift as a result. 16.5+/20 Jun 2014 RRP $N/A
