Ata Rangi Martinborough Pinot Noir 1992

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 30-Jun-2014
A cool, Mt Pinatubo affected growing season with frost reducing yields to 28 tonnes. Only 860 GDD. Made with 50% whole bunches. Full, deep, dark-hearted brown-red colour. This has a very full, firm and intense bouquet with a complex amalgam of fragrant and lifted savoury dark red fruits and cool, herbal characters, hints of stalks and green spices. An elegant wine in size, tight with a firm core and line of secondary herb-laced, savoury red fruits and undergrowth, with leafy, stemmy hints. Crisp acidity underlines the palate, adding to the firm line and leading to a racy finish. The coolness has preserved the brightness and liveliness, as well as the aromatics. 16.0+/20Jun 2014 RRP $N/A
