Ata Rangi Martinborough Pinot Noir 1988

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 30-Jun-2014
The year of Cyclone Bola. Even brick-red colour with some depth. The nose is initially fragrant and soft with game and dried herbs, quickly developing funky game and earthy notes of brettanomyces. Dry on palate with a tight core of funky game flavours, the palate quite dried in fruit and texture, with grainy grip, the palate carried by acidity, leading to a light, lean sharp finish, with meat, undergrowth and game. Other tasters saw this as reduction rather than brett. 14.0/20 Jun 2014 RRP $N/A
