Ata Mara Central Otago Pinot Gris 2011

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 27-Feb-2013
Bright straw-yellow colour, a little paler on rim. This has a fresh and elegant bouquet of white and yellow stonefruit aromas with delicate nuances of apricot kernels, honeysuckle and flinty minerals. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, this is elegant and slender in proportion with light flavours of stonefruits, pears, nuts and minerals. The textures are soft, with some alcohol underlining the drive. Crisp acidity provides some linearity and carries the flavours to a moderately long, grainy finish with some sweetness. This is an elegant Pinot Gris with stonefruit, nuts and minerally flavours driven a little by the alcohol. Serve with antipasto and first courses over the next 3 years. Fruit from the ‘Te Mara' vineyard fermented to 13.6% alc. and 6 g/L rs. 16.5/20 Mar 2013 RRP $16.00
