Askerne Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 25-Nov-2015
Bright, very pale lemon-straw yellow colour, pale on edge. The nose is softly concentrated with aromas of fresh herbs, cut grass, some cooler spectrum nettle notes and gooseberry fruit. This is elegant in expression and uncomplicated. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features light and juicy flavours of green stonefruits, greengages and gooseberries along with hebal elements. Fresh mouthwatering acidity and light textures provide a balanced line and core, and the wine carries to a light, dry finish with piquant herbal notes. This is a soft, light, well-balanced Sauvignon Blanc with light, sweet fruit and mouthwatering acidity. Serve with Mediterranean fare and salads and vegetables over the next 2 years. Fruit from the lower terraces of the ‘Askerne’ vineyard, hand-picked and tank-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 0.2 g/L RS. 17.0-/20 Nov 2015 RRP $17.50
