Ash Ridge ‘Estate’ Hawke’s Bay Rosé 2016

Rose from New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Review Date : 05-Sep-2016
Bright, cerise-pink colour with some depth and pale purple hues on the rim. This has a tight and firm, fresh nose with thirst-quenching aromas of watermelon and cranberries, with subtle pomegranate elements, unfolding nuances of raspberries and herbs. Dry to taste and light-medium bodied, the palate features a tight core of bright fruit flavours of cranberries and raspberries with watermelon notes. The fruit is underlined by fine, mouthwatering, dry phenolic textures and balanced, crisp acidity that carries the wine to a clean and clear finish with delicate and softly concentrated flavours. This is an elegant dry rosé with a tight core of cranberry and raspberry fruit flavours on a tight, fine-textured, thirst-quenching palate. Serve as an aperitif and with tapas over the next 2 years. 100% Merlot tank-fermented with approx. 8 hours skin contact to 12.5% alc. and dryness, the wine aged 4 months on light lees. 17.0/20 Sep 2016 RRP $21.00
