Artezin Mendocino County Zinfandel 2013

Zinfandel from USA
Review Date : 27-Mar-2016
Dark, deep ruby-red with black hues at the heart, and lighter purple hues at the edge. This has a gently full and voluminous bouquet of ripe dark red berry fruit and blueberries, unfolding jam elements and lifted oak hints. This is warm and generous and harmoniously balanced. Full-bodied, and broad and evenly presented, the palate has gentle, mouthfilling flavours of ripe dark red berryfruit and blue fruits, along with lifted and nutty oak elements. The fruit is supported by fine, grainy tannin extraction and structure with balanced acidity lending liveliness on the palate. This develops linearity which carries the wine to a blueberry-fruited, lingering finish balanced by fine, dry grip. This is a gently mouthfilling Zinfandel with blue fruits and fine, grainy structure. Serve with Middle Eastern fare and slow-cooked game meat over the next 5-6 years. A blend of 85% Zinfandel, 10% Petite Sirah and 5% Carignan from the Ukiah Valley fermented to 14.9% alc., the wine aged 15 months in French and American oak. 17.5+/20 Mar 2016 RRP $34.00
