Arriba Tempranillo 2010

Tempranillo from Spain
Review Date : 18-Oct-2011
A VdeT Castilla La Mancha wine from Spain, 100% Tempranillo bush vine fruit with an average age of 20 y.o. fermented to 13.0% alc. Light ruby-red colour with some depth, garnet on rim. The nose has light, direct, lifted aromas of soft raspberry fruits with hints of strawberry jam, and some sweet cedar. Medium-bodied, this has bold and up-front flavours of sweetly ripe raspberry fruit interwoven with aromatic nuances of spice and cedar. The wine is freshly presented on the palate with noticeable acidity, and there is a good line of gentle tannins from modest extraction leading to a lively finish. A flavoursome, fresh and accessible red with the body to serve with charcuterie, pasta, pizza and barbecued meats over the next 3+ years. 16.5/20 Oct 2011 RRP $11.95
