Aronui ‘Single Vineyard’ Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 30-Oct-2013
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour, near colourless on rim. The nose is a little restrained with fresh and steely aromas of gooseberry and passionfruit, expressed gently, along with a chalky note. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, this is softly full with a tight core of passionfruit and minerally flavours. The mouthfeel is rounded with very fine phenolic textures that spread across the palate. Racy, lacy acidity underlines the textures and provides piquant, and thirst-quenching liveliness and zestiness. The palate carries through to a mouthwatering, dry, chalky finish. This is a dry, softly textural Sauvignon Blanc with thirst-quenching and bright acid lift. Match with seafood and poultry dishes with creamy sauces over the next 2+ years. Fruit from the ‘Elmside’ estate in Brightwater, cool-fermented in stainless-steel with a small portion in oak barriques to 12.5% alc. and 1.7 g/L RS, the wine spending 2 months on lees with batonnage. 17.0+/20 Oct 2013 RRP $21.95
