Aronui ‘Single Vineyard’ Nelson Pinot Rosé 2014

Rose from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 29-Sep-2014
Predominantly clone 5 and 777 fruit from the ‘Whenua Matua’ vineyard given a 24 hour cold soak and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 7.0 g/L RS. Bright, pink-red colour with slight purple hues, lighter on edge. This has a fresh, bright, pure nose of strawberries and cream and red cherries, along with suggestions of herbs and minerals and a subtle confectionary note, the aromatics showing depth and presence. Off-dry to taste, the mouthfeel is fleshy and juicy, with restrained raspberry and strawberry fruit flavours. The wine is soft and smooth-textured, the roundness enhanced by soft acidity. The flavours flow gently to a light, lush finish with red floral and raspberry elements. This is a full, soft, lush, off-dry rosé with gentle fruit flavours. Serve as an aperitif, with charcuterie and Middle Eastern fare over the next 2 years. 17.0/20 Sep 2014 RRP $21.95
