Aronui ‘Single Vineyard’ Nelson Pinot Rosé 2013

Rose from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 30-Oct-2013
Clone 777 and 5 Pinot Noir from the ‘Tuna’ block of the ‘Whenua Matua’ vineyard, Upper Moutere, given 24 hours skin contact and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc. and 6.2 g/L RS. Full, deep, near-lurid ruby-pink colour with light purple hues on rim. The bouquet is firm and taut with good depth and density of bright raspberry fruit and cherry aromas along with an attractive confectionary lift. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, up-front and intense flavours of raspberries and cream with a firm, concentrated and driven line. Lifted confectionary elements add to the brightness and sweetness of the fruit. The mouthfeel has weight and presence, with rounded textures from soft acidity. A subtle phenolic thread underlines the fruit and leads the wine to a long, soft finish with raspberry pastille notes. This is a fresh, intense raspberry and cream flavoured rosé with an underlying firm drive. Serve with tapas and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. 17.5-/20 Oct 2013 RRP $21.95
