Aronui ‘Single Vineyard’ Nelson Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 11-Oct-2017
Even ruby-red colour with slight purple hues and some depth, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full with good depth of ripe dark-red berry fruit with notes of plums and dark-red florals, revealing subtle dark herbs, a hint of liquorice and nutty oak. Medium-full bodied, the palate has rich, ripe flavours of dark raspberry fruit with subtle plum notes, dark-red florals, herbs and hints of liquorice. The fruit forms a good, deep heart and I supported by fine, grainy tannin textures and lacy acidity. The palate has good presence and caries to a light, oft, lingering finish of dark-red fruits and herbs. This is a rich Pinot Noir with ripe flavours of dark raspberries and plums with herb and liquorice detail on a fine, grainy palate with freshness and presence. Serve with pork, lamb and beef dishes over the next 5+ years. Hand-picked fruit from the ’Whenua Matua’ vineyard and fermented with 5% whole bunches to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 20% new French oak. 18.0+/20 Oct 2017 RRP $27.95
