Aronui ‘Single Vineyard’ Nelson Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 29-Sep-2014
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, lighter on rim. The nose is refined and tightly bound with piquant and lifted floral aromatics, entwined with intense white stonefruit, herb and honeysuckle notes. Off-dry to taste and elegantly proportioned, this has a tight and intense core of exotic florals and stonefruits infused with herb detail. The fruit depth and concentration lends an oiliness to the texture which is balanced by vibrant and poised acidity. The wine flows with vitality and energy and good drive and power to a long, positive, weighty finish. This is an elegantly concentrated off-dry Pinot Gris with exotic flavours and good power and drive. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 3-4 years. Hand-picked fruit from the ‘Whenua Matua’ vineyard, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 14.5% alc. and 9.3 g/L RS, the wine aged 6 weeks on lees with batonnage. 18.0/20 Sep 2014 RRP $21.95
