First crop from the ‘Whenua Matua’ vineyard, Upper Moutere, hand-picked and given 24 hours skin contact, and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 1.5 g/L RS, the wine aged one month on lees. Bright, pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The nose is fresh with good intensity of white and green stonefruit aromas, along with herb and minerally notes, unfolding a yellow floral richness and presence with aeration. Dry, crisp and brisk, this has a firm and linear palate with light, but tightly concentrated flavours of white stonefruits, citrus and herbs. The palate features a fine, dry, mouthwatering phenolic, textural line and refreshing acidity. Fresh herb, stonefruit and mineral nuances carry through to a moderately long, lingering finish. This is a dry mouthwatering, tightly concentrated Gruner Veltliner with floral aromatics and stonefruit flavours.
