Aronui ‘Single Vineyard’ Nelson Gewurztraminer 2013

Gewurztraminer from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 22-Jun-2014
Hand-picked fruit from the ‘Apple Valley’ Road’ vineyard, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 16 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees 8 months. Brilliant, pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on edge. Restrained and elegant aromas of rose-petal and exotic florals intermingle with mineral and flint elements, and hints of musk, ginger and spices. The bouquet grows in depth and concentration with time in the glass. Medium-dry and medium-full bodied, the palate features gently mouthfilling flavours of rose-petal florals, honey and spicy musk. The fruit has good lusciousness to enhance the detail, and an underlying concentration and drive. The palate is balanced and a harmonious, with seamless, fine textures and flows with a little alcohol power, leading to a softly luscious and succulent honied finish. This is a gently luscious and subtly exotic medium-dry Gewurztraminer with a harmonious mouthfeel. Serve with Asian and Middle Eastern fareover the next 3-4+ years. 18.5-/20 Jun 2014 RRP $21.95
