Aronui ‘Single Vineyard’ Nelson Chardonnay 2011

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 13-Mar-2013
Mendoza clone fruit from 15 y.o. vines from a single site in Brightwater, hand-picked and WBP, barrel-fermented and aged in new and seasoned oak to 14.0% alc., the wine undergoing batonnage and MLF. Brilliant straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues, lighter on edge. This has full aromas of citrus fruits, butterscotch and nuts that form a compact and harmonious amalgam on bouquet. Full-bodied, this features open and accessible flavours of ripe citrus fruit, MLF butterscotch, nuts and some oak toast, which are underlined by crisp and racy acidity, providing good energy. The flavours are cut by phenolic textures, and alcohol power results in linearity, carrying the flavours to a dry, moderately sustained finish. This is a full, bold and up-front Chardonnay with citrus and butterscotch flavours and a little textural grip. Serve with seafood, poultry and pork over the next 3-4 years. 17.0-/20 Mar 2013 RRP $24.95
