Archangel ‘Stefania’ Central Otago Riesling 2015

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 19-Mar-2018
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale edged. The nose is taut and finely concentrated with harmoniously melded aromas of citrus fruit and secondary toast notes and mineral complexities. This is firm and still somewhat aromatically austere, but shows excellent intensity. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has an elegantly concentrated heart with an amalgam of lime and lemonade fruit along with toasty detail and mineral nuances. The palate features refined phenolic and fruit-extract textures, and is enlivened by crisp, thirst-quenching acidity. The mouthfeel is poised and possesses a tight core and line that carries to a ling, zesty finish. This is a tight and finely concentrated dry Riesling with citrus fruit and complex toast and mineral notes on a mouthwatering palate that promises to reveal more over the next 5 years. Serve as an aperitif, and with shellfish and seafood over the next 5 years. Hand-picked fruit, WBP and fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 7.5 g/L RS, and TA 7.8 g/L. 18.5/20 Mar 2018 RRP $35.00
