Archangel ‘Stefania’ Central Otago Riesling 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 20-Jun-2017
Bright, even straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, lighter on the rim. The bouquet is elegantly proportioned with intense and penetrating aromas of lime fruit melded harmoniously with white florals, nuances of honeysuckle and a layering of complexing toasty secondary elements and minerals. This has beautiful clarity, purity and focus. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is fine and tightly bound with a concentrated and intense core of lime fruit, florals, minerals and subtle notes of honeysuckle intermingling with secondary toasty detail. The palate shows good fruit extract and the wine flows along a fine-textured line, with lacy acidity providing energy. The wine carries to a long and sustained, elegant finish of limes, florals, minerals and toast. This is a tightly bound, pure and focussed dry Riesling with lime, floral, toast and mineral flavours on a fine-textured, lingering plate.. Serve as an aperitif and with shellfish over the next 4-5+ years. Hand-picked clone GM 239 clone fruit fermented in stainless-steel to 12.8% alc. and 6.7 g/L RS, TA 7.55 g/l and pH 2.91. Approx. 240 cases made. 18.5+/20 Jun 2017 RRP $25.00
