Archangel Central Otago Riesling 2011

Riesling from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 19-Oct-2015
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, near colourless on the rim. The bouquet is very fine and tightly bound with good intensity of limes, white stonefruits and florals, entwined with complexing, toasty secondary development, mouthwatering minerals and subtle, nutty, oxidative suggestions. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is tightly bound with a core of lime fruit, white florals, toast, minerals and nutty notes. The mouthfeel is dry and fine-textured, the wine following a dry phenolic line. Soft, integrated acidity lends harmony and the wine flows positively with gentle energy to a sweet fruited finish with floral and toasty notes. This is a dry, finely concentrated, maturing Riesling with a fine textured line and secondary toasty complexities. Serve as an aperitif and with seafood over the next 2-3 years. Hand-picked fruit, WBP and fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc., 6.3 g/L RS, TA 7.9 g/L and pH 3.04. 270 cases made. 16.5/20 Oct 2015 RRP $23.00
