Aramis ‘Black Label Single Vineyard’ McLaren Vale Shiraz 2012

Syrah from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 05-Sep-2016
Very full, black-red colour, near impenetrable, withslight garnet on the rim. The bouquet is soft, gentle and harmoniously melded with layers of ripe dark-red berry fruit, dark plums, suggestions of spice and pepper, along with earthy and cedary oak detail. Medium-full bodied, the palate features gently rich and sweet flavours of blackberries, raspberries and plums, integrated with layers of spice, pepper, earth and cedary oak. The fruit sweetness is balanced by mellow extraction and integrated acidity, and the wine flows smoothly to a soft, gently rich finish with some concentration. This is a gently rich and softly concentrated Shiraz with raspberry, pepper, earth and cedary oak flavours on a harmoniously flowing, balanced palate. Serve with casseroles and slow-cooked game meat over the next 5 years. Fruit from the ‘Aramis’ vineyard fermented to 14.5% alc., the wine aged 23 months in 35% new French oak. 17.0-/20 Sep 2016 RRP $31.99
