Ara ‘Single Estate’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-May-2014
Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour, pale on rim. This has a soft, full nose with gently building and deep aromas of ripe passionfruit and fresh herbs that reveal subtle tropical fruit, green apple and some smoky notes in the glass. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, bright passionfruit flavours meld with citrus fruit and gooseberry elements to form a well-concentrated core. The palate has a rounded to the concentration and the fruit opens seamlessly. The mouthfeel is gently vibrant and lively with lacy, thirst-quenching acidity and the palate flows smoothly with good energy. Fruit sweetness and succulence features on the soft, lingering finish. This is a gently fresh and accessible, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with some juicy fruit. Serve with seafood, salads and vegetables, and Mediterranean fare over the next 2 years. A blend of fruit from all areas of the Ara vineyard, cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 3.2 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 18.0+/20 May 2014 RRP $21.95
