Ara ‘Single Estate’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-Nov-2014
The fourth crop, from vines on the northern and southern borders of the vineyard, a very small portion of the fruit with botrytis, cool-fermented to 13.0% alc. and 7.11 g/L RS. Bright, light copper-pink colour on straw-yellow, lighter edged. This has a full, gentle aromatic nose of red and yellow florals with lifted pear and fresh fermentation esters interwoven with honeysuckle nuances. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate features aromatic stonefruits with yellow and red florals, and suggestions of pears and honey. The mouthfeel is soft and rounded in texture with good weight and presence. Fresh acidity balances the richness and gentle unctuousness, and carries the wine to a light, refreshing finish. This is a light, aromatic off-dry Pinot Gris with a subtle richness on palate. Serve with poultry and Asian fare over the next 2-3 years. 17.0+/20 Nov 2014 RRP $21.95
