Ara ‘Single Estate’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 09-Oct-2012
Second crop fruit from vines on the northern and southern borders of the Ara vineyards, given skin contact and cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 7.9 g/L rs. Bright straw-yellow colour with slight golden hues, pale on rim. The bouquet is finely presented with intense aromas of white stonefruits underlined by subtle herb and reductive flinty notes. Off-dry to taste, and medium-full bodied, bright, light, up-front stonefruit flavours show with a little sweetness and richness, enlivened by fresh acidity. The palate has a soft roundness to the mouthfeel with good balance and an even flow. A fine textural thread underlines the wine carrying through to a dry, moderately sustained finish. This is a classical Pinot Gris with balanced, soft mouthfeel and subtle flavours. Serve with Asian cuisine over the next 3-4 years. 17.5-/20 Oct 2012 RRP $21.99
