Ara ‘Select Blocks’ Marlborough Pinot Gris 2012

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 20-May-2013
Bright straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues, pale on rim. The nose is fresh and full with aromas of ripe white stonefruits with an amalgam of flint, minerals, florals and honeysuckle, all harmoniously interwoven. Off-dry to taste, fresh fruit flavours of white and yellow stonefruits gently fill the mouth with a subtle richness and lusciousness. The mouthfeel is lively with bright acidity enhancing the sweetness, and this is balanced by a fine, dry textural line. Delicate nuances of tropical fruits and minerals add detail and the flavours carry through to a long, lingering, dry finish with aromatic and vibrant fruit nuances. This is a gently luscious and lively off-dry Pinot Gris with fine textures. Serve with antipasto and most first courses over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from selected parcels in the ‘Ara’ vineyard, generally cool-fermented with a small portion warm-fermented to 13.5% alc. and 7.2 g/L rs, the wine aged on lees for approx. 6 months. 18.0+/20 May 2013 RRP $25.95
