Antonin Guyon ‘Dames de Vergy’ Hautes Cotes de Nuits 2005

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 28-Nov-2013
Dark ruby-red colour with good depth, showing some lighter garnet hues on rim. The bouquet is full and firmly concentrated with complex, secondary savoury aromas of undergrowth, mushrooms and dried herbs along with earthy red berry fruits and game. Light-medium-bodied and quite elegant in proportion, this has sweet and savoury red fruit flavours unfolding game and mushroom flavours with earth and herbs. The acidity keeps the mouthfeel fresh and lively, and the tannins harmonious and balanced. As the wine flows, the tannins grow with the wine finishing dry and textural. Drink this mature country burgundy over the next 3+ years. From 20 ha in Meuilley, near Nuits-St-Georges, aged 12 months in oak. 17.5-/20 Nov 2013 RRP $N/A
