Antinori ‘Santa Cristina Chianti Superiore DOCG 2011

Sangiovese from Italy - Tuscany
Review Date : 08-Oct-2014
Moderately deep ruby-red colour with some garnet hues. The nose is soft and elegant with bright, savoury red berry fruits along with nuances of earth and cedar, lifted by jammy, whole berry fermentation notes. Medium-light bodied, plush and sweet jammy red berry fruits are enlivened and lifted by elevated, lacy acidity. The palate line is in the background and supple, light tannins guide the flavours to a sweet, fruity finish. A light and easy Chianti for antipasto, pizza and barbecued fare over the next 3-4 years. 95% Sangiovese and 5% Merlot from different Chianti sub-regions fermented to 13.0% alc., the wine aged 9 months in tank and oak. 16.5+/20 Oct 2014 RRP $28.95
