Ant Moore ‘Signature Series’ Marlborough Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 27-Mar-2016
Full, even, light golden-yellow colour. The bouquet is full and broad with well concentrated aromas of yellow stonefruits and citrus fruit smoothly melded with rich layers of nutty oak with complexing oxidative and lemon-curd MLF complexities, unfolding smoky, toasty oak. Medium-bodied, the palate is rich and harmoniously integrated with flavours of yellow stonefruits, savoury citrus fruits, and layers of creamy and nutty oak and subtle lemon-curd MLF detail, unfolding toasty interest. The mouthfeel is rounded and lush, but flows with good acid energy and linearity, leading to a concentrated, lingering finish with nutty, toasty oak. This is a rich, integrated, mature Chardonnay with flavours of ripe stonefruits, nuts, toasty oak and creamy MLF, flowing with good energy. Match with roasted and grilled poultry and pork fishes over the next 3+ years. Marlborough fruit, hand-picked, WBP and fermented in predominantly seasoned oak to 13.5% alc., the wine aged on lees, undergoing MLF. 18.0/20 Mar 2016 RRP $26.99
