Ant Moore Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2010

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 29-Jun-2011
Bright straw-yellow colour with green hues and a pale edge, this has a very fine and tight nose of nettles, herbs and gooseberries, reflecting the cooler spectrum of fruit. The bouquet has a little lift as well as mineral nuances. Very dry on palate, the flavours of gooseberries, herbs, nettles and minerals are finely expressed and the acidity near-searing and racy. The concentration and stone-like dryness suggests this will keep well, for say 4-5+ years. Fruit from the estate vineyards, predominantly from the Awatere with Waihopi and Upper Wairau grapes, fermented to 12.5% alc. and 2.4 g/L rs, the wine given time on lees and some barrel work. Serve with shellfish. 17.5/20 Jun 2011 RRP $23.00
