Anne Gros ‘Le Grand Maupertui’ Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2010

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 05-Feb-2013
Full, deep, dark ruby-red colour. This has a very full, softly layered nose that unfolds ethereal aromas of ripe, dark red fruits, with very subtle nuances of savoury earth and hints of gamey detail with dark berry and floral lift. Full-bodied, the softness and sensuousness of texture is the highlight, the palate revealing waves of discreet red fruits and earth, with dried spices. This has a sweetness and fleshiness, beautifully cut by very fine underlying tannins and lacy acidity. The palate has a density and concentration that builds to show great presence and weight, without being overbearing in any way. This will age 10-15 years. 19.0-/20 Jan 2013
