Anne Gros ‘Le Grand Maupertui’ Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2007

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 04-May-2014
Light ruby-red heart with garnet and brick hues, lighter and showing development on rim. This has a light, ethereal nose with softly interwoven aromas of savoury red fruits with some dried herb and mushroom elements that unfold with breadth and evenness. Medium-bodied and elegantly presented, the palate is slender, bordering lean, with mature and complex forest-floor, dried herb and game flavours, underlined by some dried stalk notes. There is sweetness on the palate with good acid freshness, countering the beginnings of dryness to the texture. Light tannin extraction remains, providing some linearity, leading to a light, dryish finish. This is a smaller-scale Clos de Vougeot with light, savoury flavours, just showing some signs of dryness. Drink over the next 3-4 years. 17.0-/20 RRP $277.00
