Anne Gros ‘Le Grand Maupertui’ Clos de Vougeot 2011 Grand Cru 2011

Pinot Noir from France - Burgandy
Review Date : 27-Aug-2014
Full, even, moderately deep, purple-hued red colour. This has a full and complete nose in proportion with bright and fragrantly lifted aromas of ripe dark-red berry fruits and an attractive violet floral lift. The fruit is still quite primary in expression and shows finesse and intensity, building in volume and concentration in the glass. Medium-full bodied, lusciously sweet dark red berry fruit flavours are concentrated, forming a full, rounded core. Some florals and oak spice add detail and interest to the youthful fruit. Firm tannin extraction becomes manifest and some acid cut adds to the energy and youthfulness of the mouthfeel, carrying the structure and the fruit to a long finish. A little dis-jointed and primary, the fruit should unfold to enrich the structure over the next 8-10 years. From a 0.93 ha single parcel in the ‘Grand Maupertui' section underneath Grands Echezeaux. 18.5/20 Aug 2014 RRP $299.00
