A single vineyard wine, the fruit fully barrel-fermented to 14.5% alc., and aged 11 months in French and American oak barriques. Bright, full and even, light golden-straw colour, lighter on rim. This has a full, broad and up-front nose with good depth of yellow stonefruit aromas alongside butterscotch MLF and nutty, oxidative complexities. The aromatics have a steely freshness and lift, revealing toasty oak elements with aeration. Full-bodied with a good core of citrus and stonefruits, the palate is harmoniously integrated and soft with layers of butterscotch and nutty oak. This has a delicate juiciness and the mouthfeel is bright, with refreshing background acidity. A fine textured thread balances the barrel-ferment creaminess and guides the wine to a light and gentle, complex, nutty, oxidative finish. This is an integrated and creamy Chardonnay with citrus and butterscotch flavours. Match with seafood, poultry and pork dishes over the next 4 years. 17.5+/20 Jul 2014 RRP $35.00
