Anchorage Nelson Sauvignon Blanc 2016

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 11-Oct-2016
Bright straw-yellow colour with pale green-gold hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is fresh and light with aromas of gooseberries and white stonefruits building in depth to show soft herb and green capsicum notes, along with nuances of white florals and minerals. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is positively presented with light flavours of gooseberries, fresh herbs, stonefruits and nuances of capsicum along with mouthwatering mineral elements. The palate has fruit lusciousness enlivened by fresh, brisk acidity, and the wine flows along a fine-textured line, leading to a dry, refreshing finish of gooseberries and stonefruit. This is a light gooseberry and stonefruited, thirst-quenching Sauvignon Blanc with a fresh mouthfeel and dry finish. Serve as an aperitif, with salads and vegetables and with seafood over the next 2 years. Fruit mainly from the Anchorage ‘Home’ vineyard, cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 3.6 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 16.5/20 Oct 2016 RRP $17.99
