Anchorage Nelson Gewurztraminer 2017

Gewurztraminer from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 17-Sep-2017
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with a hint of blush, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full and voluminous with a gentle, but deep core, showing aromas of rose-petal florals and Turkish Delight with notes of honey and perfumed bath salts and hints of fresh fermentation esters. Medium-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has moderately concentrated, and subtly rich flavours of rose-petal florals, Turkish Delight, bath salts and suggestions of honey, with fermentation esters. The flavour are up-front and are guided by a light, phenolic textured line with fresh acidity. The wine carries to a light, but lingering finish of exotic florals. This I a fresh, moderately concentrated medium-dry Gewurztraminer with rose-petal florals, honey and fermentation esters which flow on a light-textured line. Match with Asian and Middle Eastern fare over the next 3 years. Fruit from the ‘Flett Road’ vineyard, Motueka, and a site in Riwaka, given several hours skin contact and cool-fermented to 12.2% alc. and 12.5 g/L RS. 17.0+/20 Sep 2017 RRP $18.00
