Anchorage Nelson ‘Classic’ Riesling 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 11-Jan-2014
Cool-fermented in tank with a small portion in barrel to 9.5% alc. and 17.5 g/L RS, the wine aged 4 months on lees. Bright, very pale straw-yellow colour with some green hues. The bouquet is fresh and delicately presented with pure and clear lime, lemon and white floral aromatics, revealing some sweet and sour elements and nuances of honeysuckle. Medium in sweetness and light-bodied, light and pure flavours of florals, limes and lemon feature on a soft, gentle and refined palate. The mouthfeel is very smooth in texture with restrained underlying acidity providing a fresh line. The fruit is youthfully pristine and primary and lead to a light, straightforward finish with honeysuckle nuances. This is a delicate, classically styled, medium-dry Riesling that will develop greater interest over the next 4-5 years. Serve as an aperitif and with subtly spiced Asian fare. 825 cases made. 17.5-/20 Jan 2014 RRP $18.99
