Anchorage Nelson Chardonnay 2009

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 23-Mar-2011
Made from clone 15 fruit from the ‘Flett Road' vineyard, fermented to13.6% alc. and 1.5 g/L rs, aged in French and American oak barrels, undergoing 100% MLF. Bright pale straw-yellow colour with a pale green-hued edge, this has a fresh, somewhat raw nose with light, savoury white stonefruit aromas along with spicy oak and buttery diacetyl malo notes. Dryish on palate, this is medium weighted with crisp acidity, the flavours are of stonefruits, butterscotch and bacon-like oak. The wine has a light, textured, dry finish with good length. This will harmonise with some bottle-age. Match with poultry and pork over the next 2-4 years. 16.5/20 Mar 2011 RRP $19.00
