Anchorage Family Estate Chardonnay 2019, Nelson

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Nelson
Review Date : 14-Sep-2020
Bright, straw-yellow with some depth, even colour throughout. The nose is coy, subtle notes of stonefruit, Mayer lemon, underlying creamy MLF details and barrel spice elements. Medium-bodied, aromas of lemons, peaches, along with toast, almond bitters interweaves notes of barrel spices. The flavours are broad and deep, and fill the palate. The acidity is lively, flows on a light grip phenolic line to a moderate finish. This is a palatable Chardonnay with up-front flavours of stonefruit and cream on light grip textured line. Match with Five-spice chicken drums and pork over the next 2-3 years. Fermented warm to 13% alc. Aged 12 months on lees in stainless steel tanks, full MLF. 16.5/20 pts Sept 2020 RRP $16.99
