Named of Michiel and Hanna Eradus’s daughter Ana-Sophie. Fruit from the Awatere and Wairau valleys, cool-fermented to 13.5% alc. and approx. 3 g/L RS. Brilliant, pale straw colour with slight green hues, lighter on rim. This has a full, punchy, pungent passionfruity nose with tropical fruit elements, chalky minerals and fresh fermentation esters. Dry to taste, tight passionfruit and minerally flavours show some initial lusciousness, and are underlined by a phenolic line with textural grip. The mouthfeel becomes dry, with thirst-quenching acidity that carries the flavours to a chalky, grainy finish with moderate length. This is a dry, tight, passionfruit flavoured Sauvignon Blanc with dry textures. Serve as an aperitif or with shellfish over the next 2 years. 16.5/20 Aug 2013 RRP $14.99
