Amisfield Central Otago Pinot Noir 2009

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 11-Aug-2011
Clones 114, 115, 667, 777, 5, 6 and Abel, generally wild yeast fermented to 14.0% alc. with some whole bunches, the wine aged 12 months in French oak barrels. Dar, deep, ruby-red in colour, this has a fresh, rich and ripe bouquet of dark red berry fruits, savoury thyme herbs and cooked cherries, full and with balanced oaking. A full-bodied wine, this features a fulsome and structured palate showcasing the fine, grainy tannin framework alongside the flavours of dark raspberry, cherry and plum fruits complexed by savoury herb notes. Soft acidity contributes to a balance and harmony, the wine finishing with sustained notes of red liquorice and plums. A textural wine to match with flavoursome duck, lamb and beef dishes over the next 5-7 years. 18.0/20 Aug 2011 RRP $40.00
