Alvaro Palacios ‘Finca Dofi’ Priorat 2012

Grenache from Spain
Review Date : 12-Aug-2016
Very dark, deep, ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues, lighter edged. The nose is beautifully fragrant with aromatic and decadent aromas of dark raspberries, bright red florals and spices, complexing fresh herbs and whole berry fermentation notes, along with a suggestion of game and earth. Medium-full bodied, the fruit is sweetly rich and juicy, plush and succulent, quite up-front and fulsome, but in no way overbearing. This is quite primary in expression, but has detail and nuances to provide interest. The fruit is balanced by considerable extraction, the tannins fine-grained, powdery and refined, lending weight and body to the mouthfeel, and the flavours are sustained. This is beautifully fresh, fragrant and up-front with great structure. 10+ years. 18.5+/20 Aug 2016 RRP $89.00
