Alvaro Palacios ‘Finca Dofi’ Priorat 2009

Grenache from Spain
Review Date : 12-Aug-2016
Moderately deep ruby-red colour, with lighter purple hues on the edge. This is a little reserved on bouquet, but clearly concentrated and still tightly bound with ripe dark raspberries and notes of plums, along with savoury, secondary game elements showing complexity. Fullish-bodied but restrained on palate, tending towards elegance. The dark raspberry and plum fruit is a little held back, maybe with notes of sur-maturite? Yet there is sweetness, richness and fragrance. The fruit still has primary notes and is underlined by fine-grained tannins which lead to a lingering, sweet finish. This is elegant and restrained with fine-grained structure, just beginning to show development. 6-8+ years. 18.0+/20 Aug 2016 RRP $89.00
