Alvaro Palacios ‘Finca Dofi’ Priorat 2006

Grenache from Spain
Review Date : 12-Aug-2016
Very dark, deep-hearted, near impenetrable black-red colour with garnet hues. This has a very firm and deeply concentrated, solid bouquet with aromas of ripe, dark raspberry fruit, melded with savoury secondary earth and game, unfolding dark red floral elements and toasty oak. Full-bodied, the palate is solid, fulsome and densely packed with savoury dark-red fruits with earthy notes, along with spices, game, and dark-red and black floral nuances. The fruit is framed by considerable extraction, lending body and structure, and the tannins carry through to a dense, drying, lingering finish with game and toasty oak. This is a solid, well-extracted wine with secondary and oaky complexities. 4-6 years. 18.0+/20 Aug 2016 RRP $99.00
