Deep ruby-red with a purple hue, even colour throughout. The nose is full and perfumed, with aromas of blueberry, black cherry, violet, sweet spice and cedar. Medium-bodied, aromas of black cherry and blueberry entwined with violet, vanilla cola and cedar. The fruit is succulent with well-balanced, fresh acidity. Gentle, smooth tannins linger to a satisfying finish. Match with beef ragu and eggplant parmesan over the next 3 years. Handpicked at night, cold maceration, fermented to 13.5% alc, then aged for three months in French and American oak barrels. 18+/20 pts (91 pts) $19
