Alter Ego de Chateau Palmer Margaux 2011

Blended Red from France - Bordeaux
Review Date : 12-Nov-2015
48% Me, 37% CS, 15% PV. Very dark, deep, black-red with vibrant and youthful purple hues. The aromatics are bright and lifted with lively and primary notes of dark red and black berried fruits, unfolding dark red plum and floral elements. The fruit is lifted by oak shine, and spice elements, and an exotic musky line. Medium-full bodied, bright, sweet and vibrantly aromatic fruit flavours of plush black and dark red plums and berry fruits feature on the palate. A subtle savoury musky line is detectable, some tasters seeing this as evidence of TCA cork taint? The mouthfeel is energetic with very fine-grained tannins and lively acidity adding to the vitality and flow. This has beautiful precision and linearity, the freshness carrying the wine to an elegant, refined finish. This will keep 8-10 years. 18.5-/20 Nov 2015 RRP $165.00
