Dark, deep, black-red colour with youthful purple hues, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is full and even with softly packed aromas of bright, vibrantly ripe, dark-red and black berried fruits, along with plum and jam elements, and a subtle layering of herbs and earth. Medium-full bodied, the palate possesses soft and juicy, lusciously ripe fruit flavours of dark raspberries and blackberries, with notes of plum jam, entwined with herb elements. The mouthfeel is succulent with soft, supple, accessible tannins and integrated acidity supporting the fruit. The flavours carry with good flow to a fruity, dark-red berry and plummy finish. This is an up-front, succulent and fruity Tempranillo with dark raspberry, blackberry and plummy fruit on an accessible palate. Match with roasted and barbecued red meats over the next 3+ years. 90% Tempranillo and 5% each of Syrah and Garnacha from 25-35 y.o. bush vines from the commune of Manchuela in La Mancha, fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 3 months in seasoned French and American oak.
