Alpine Valley Waipara Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 03-Oct-2013
Bright, pale straw colour with slight green hues, near colourless on rim. The bouquet is fresh ans upfront with bold and well- concentrated aromas of aromatic pear fruit, exotic florals, fermentation esters and honeysuckle. Dry to taste, light and tightly bound flavours of esters and exotic florals form a core with subtle richness. The mouthfeel is crisp, brisk and racy with steely acidity and a little phenolic texture that leads to a light, dry finish. This dry Pinot Gris has a bold, aromatic bouquet and a tight and racy palate with exotic aromatics. Match with Middle Eastern influenced cuisine over the next 2-3 years. 94% Waipara and 6% Marlborough fruit, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 5 g/L RS. 16.5+/20 Oct 2013 RRP $15.95
