Alpine Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2014

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 05-Dec-2014
Bright, very pale straw colour with pale green hues on the rim. This has a fresh and softly concentrated nose of pungent passionfruit with nuances of melons, herbs and minerals that open up in volume with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, softly luscious and sweet passionfruit flavours flow with good acid zestiness and energy on a slippery palate underlined by a fine-textured line. The mouthfeel is balanced, and the wine carries to mouth-wateringly refreshing dry finish with herb and tropical fruit notes. This is a gently rich, passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with good thirst-quenching balance. Serve with salads, vegetables and Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Fruit from two of the company’s Upper Wairau Valley vineyards, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 4.5 g/L RS. 17.0+/20 Dec 2014 RRP $19.99
