Alpine Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 28-Sep-2011
Bright, very pale-straw yellow colour with light green hues, the aromatics of passionfruit are restrained, but there is concentration and vinous presence, with pure mineral and gooseberry notes emerging with some breathing. Dry and very soft and fine-textured, delicate fruit flavours of gooseberries and white stonefruits unfold. The acidity is crisp and lacy, providing excellent nervosity. There is an underlying concentration that carries through to a subtle flavoured, but long finish. Fruit from the company's Upper Wairau Valley sites, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.05% alc. and 6.2 g/L rs. Match with seafood dishes over the next 2+ years. 18.0/20 Sep 2011 RRP $14.95
