Alpine Valley Marlborough Pinot Gris 2011

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 28-Sep-2011
100% Pinot Gris from the Upper Wairau Valley cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.9% alc. and 5.8 g/L rs. Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with some green hues, this has a fresh, tight and elegant nose with aromas of white stonefruits, pears and minerals, quite compact and yet to blossom. Dry, tightly constructed and sleek in proportion, steely pear and stonefruit flavours are carried by fine, acidity, the palate very fine in texture, nearly sleek and quite slippery. Attractive, delicate pear flavours feature on the finish. This will develop more richness with time in bottle. Drink as an aperitif and with antipasto over the next 3-4 years. 17.5-/20 Sep 2011 RRP $14.95
